National Cadet Corps is largest Tri-services youth organization in the world. In India it is established in 1917 as a University Corp. The Moto of national cadet corps is "Unity and Discipline". The aim of National cadet corps is to develop qualities of character, courage, discipline, leadership, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and ideal of selfless services among the youth to make them useful citizens, and to create trained motivated and human resources organized youth to provide leadership in Armed forces and always available for the services of the nation. In Yashavantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara A/2 Company is established under the 22 Maharashtra Bn NCC, Satara since 1965. Till today 38 cadets joined in Indian Army as 'Commissioned Officer' and about thousands of cadets joined in Indian Army as 'Non Commissioned Officer'. Rather than this, many cadets joined in duties of nation by qualifying the MPSC, BSF, CISF and also in the non government organization. In our A/2 Company, 55 cadets enrolled in three years of NCC course for qualifying 'B' and 'C' certificate examination. Along with rigorous NCC training, all cadets participate in various social activities like, Tree plantation, Blood donation; Pulse polio mass Immunization and Rallies organized by government and non-government organizations. Many NCC cadets join republic day parade, Independence Day parade, Cleanliness drive and camps organized at State and National level.
