The department is established in the year 2013 for under Graduate and in 2022 for Post Graduate studies. Our department is the only department in Shivaji University, Kolhapur having facility of B.Sc. in Forensic Science. The department focuses on the advanced and emerging techniques in the area of Forensic Science so that students can serve as Forensic Expert, Chemical Analyzer, Cyber Security Analyst, Crime Scene Investigator, Insurance Fraud Investigator, Fingerprint Expert, Questioned Document Examiner, Entrepreneur as own Forensic Science Laboratory. Department has organized two National conferences and one International Webinar. Many of faculties have completed minor research projets. Department runs 3 year diploma course titled as 'Forensic Analyst' for Undergraduate. Along with department also runs skill courses Role of Private Investigator for B.Sc. I, Fingerprint Analyst for B.Sc. II and Crime Scene Investigation Assistant for B.Sc. III. Department also runs one year PG diploma course Forensic Science & Related Law for professionals and other stream students. Department has provided consultancy services such as Data recovery, Fingerprint & Signature analysis, IQ testing. Department has provided Police training, Banking sector training and Cyber Safe Campaign under Extension activity. Department has well equipped with Forensic Investigation Kits and Cyber Forensic Software. Our various students are worked as intern in Forensic Science laboratory, Cyber Security analyst in IT industry, many students are started their own Investigative Laboratory.
