About Department
Department was established in 1958 under Chh. Shivaji College, Satara. In 1965 faculty of Science separated from Shivaji College, Satara and fully fledged science college is established. Late Bar. P. G. Patil was first principal of this college. Late Prof. Dr. A.T.Varute was first Head of this department. Both were Ex Vice Chancellors of Shivaji University, Kolhapur. PG Department of Zoology and PG Department of Fisheries was established in 2008 and 2021 respectively. Department also offered vocational and technical education. We offered three years part time Diploma Nutrition and Dietetics (Vocational Education) and part time Advanced Diploma Biomedical instrumentation. Department also offered technical education skill courses for UG and PG.
